Duck Valley - Mountain View Reservoir Outing - 2024

For those attending the DV Outing:
Fishing reports from DV last week indicate that dark colored chironomids under and indy are doing well, followed by trolled olive leeches. Stayner duck tails have also caught fish.
We suggest getting Tribal fishing licenses at Idaho Angler or Cabela's in Boise rather than DV.
Expect morning temps in the low to mid 30s with wind chill and afternoon temps in the 40s. Expect 18 to 24 mph winds. DRESS WARM! We suggest leaving float tubes and shallow draft boats at home.
Mountain View Lake Campsite #4 will be the BVFF HQ for the outing. An advance party will recon Mt. View Lake on Thursday and Friday.
We will have some light snacks on Friday night and Tom Old has generously offered to provide Dutch Oven cooked elk roasts on Saturday night at 6 PM. Please bring a side dish or dessert - thus far we have baked beans, mashed potatoes/gravy and oven fresh baked rolls. Please bring your own chairs and cups.
If you signed up for the outing and aren't coming, please call/text/email that you are not coming so we don't waste club money buying food that will go uneaten.

This stillwater fishery is known for some fantastic Spring fishing at a time when many local rivers are too high to safely wade and others are closed to fishing. Come on out to try your hand at catching some of the largest rainbow trout southwest Idaho has to offer.
