Anglers from BVFF and the VICE Outdoors angling community have been helping Idaho Fish and Game with a trout population study on the Boise River by the Diane Moore Nature Center, between Barber Dam and the NY Canal Diversion Dam. As a part of this study, some trout have been tagged in the dorsal fin with an orange Floy-tag that is labeled with a unique number that identifies it.
Idaho Fish and Game would like anglers to report when they catch any of these fish. Anglers can report tagged fish either through the IDF&G Website (tag.idaho.gov) or by email (note, short-term, the website may not be available). When sending your report by email, please send it to "tagyoureit@idfg.idaho.gov", fill-out and include this Tag-Form: IDFG Fish Tag Questionnaire.pdf and a photo that shows the tag-ID if possible. Note that there are no reward tags. Please release all tagged fish (with the tag attached) so IDF&G can continue to track them.
Please also consider reporting your tags to BVFF by emailing us at conservation@bvff.com and/or by posting to our Facebook Group Page .
